Farewell To Mr. George Gigiberia

The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) in collaboration with International Federation of Red Cross/ Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) organized a farewell ceremony for Mr. George Gigiberia who served as IFRCs country representative in Ethiopia for five years since October 2008. The farewell ceremony was organized on June 28, 2013 at the Top View Hotel in Addis Ababa. Ato Daniel Tegenu, President, and W/ro Frehiwot Worku, Secretary General of ERCS handed over a gift to Mr. George Gigiberia. Ato Daniel said he enjoyed the friendship of Mr. George Gigiberia. The president also indicated that Mr. Gigiberia has been a good bridge between ERCS and IFRCS. After indicating his contributions to ERCS, W/ro Frehiwot thanked Mr. George Gigiberia for his effort to serve as a bridge to the Red Cross family. When he departs from us, we need to say see you later, not goodbye,W/ro Frehiwot added. Mr. George Gigiberia, on his part, said he liked Ethiopian and its people. He also indicated that he was comfortable living in the country as he understands the people easily. Georgian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Senior Management Members of ERCS, and staff members of the IFRC in Ethiopia, representatives of partners and invited officials from ICRC attended the farewell ceremony.
